ENERGYbase location - high-tech network

In recent years, the area surrounding ENERGYbase has emerged as a technological hot spot of the city. TECHbase Vienna, the most advanced technology and incubator center in the Vienna Region, is the immediate neighbor of ENERGYbase. Its most important occupant is arsenal research, with a work force of approximately 175 high qualified employees in the fields of mobility and energy. TECHbase Vienna is also home to Automotive Cluster Vienna Region (ACVR), two university of applied sciences courses of study (logistics/transport management and mechatronics/robotics) as well as a start-up center for young entrepreneurs.
The world’s largest climactic wind tunnel, which tests railway and road vehicles, new transport systems and technical equipment under extreme climactic conditions, is located near ENERGYbase.

Siemens Austria is expanding its existing facilities to establish “Siemens City“ by the year 2010, not far from ENERGYbase. This high-tech campus for 13,000 employees will serve as a single business hub bringing together all the different Siemens operations and subsidiaries located in Vienna. The campus, open to the public, will also encompass shops, restaurants, hotels and apartments.
